White has starred in more than twenty-five movies and produced forty films, including the blockbuster God’s Not Dead. He serves as a Managing Partner of Pure Flix, the largest faith-based movie studio in the world. With his signature wit and sidesplitting hilarity, David’s story of faithfulness, grounded in the biblical truth that no dream is too big for God, will inspire you to relentlessly pursue your dreams, and in the process, bring the reality of God’s kingdom a little closer to the here and now.

God has planted a dream in your heart that is both unique to you and essential to the world. White reminds us that there is no one too common, too uneducated, too poor, too inexperienced, or too broken that he or she cannot be used by God.

Overall Rating
"Between Heaven and Hollywood" is actor, producer, director and inspirational speaker David A. R. White's first foray as an author and he shines with this effort! He offers the reader terrific advice about how best to "chase (and achieve) your God-given dream(s)" and how to overcome adversity in the process.

David lightheartedly recounts his early days toiling on a farm and then takes us to his days as a struggling actor in Hollywood. He punctuates his stories with a delightful touch of humor (did I mention that he is also a comedian?) as he shares the "hard times" spent in Tinseltown. Many of his successes (one such story resonates about his relationship with Hollywood icon Burt Reynolds) and setbacks are sobering but necessary. They help us understand that "as we declare our plans for our lives and futures, God hears, chuckles and maybe even laughs (my words)." Still, he emphasizes that God is good and is pulling for us ALL THE TIME!

David also provides us with useful counsel gleaned from many of his life experiences. I found it difficult to put the book down. On a personal note, I've had the privilege of meeting and speaking with David on at least four different occasions and I believe him to be a genuine article (or as the kids might say, "the real deal").

I highly recommend "Between Heaven and Hollywood"---an entertaining read and sincere account about the struggles that everyone will face to some extent while pursuing their dreams. This story is a must-read (and PLEASE be sure to check out the surprise ending). I enjoyed it and you will too! (Posted on 5/13/2017)
