"Wonders of Creation: Illustrations to Color and Inspire" is a gorgeous grown-up coloring book that I have really enjoyed coloring in. The paperback book has 94 wonderfully illustrated animals and scenes from creation to color.

I love the size of the book. It’s 10×10 inches square. The pages are thick enough that you can color with markers and it won’t bleed through. I also liked using colored pencils. There are 2 different styles throughout the book, and it’s easy to tell which illustrations were done by each of the 2 illustrators.

I think a really neat way to use this book would be during daily devotions. Read the Bible; then color some while meditating on the beauty and creativity of His creation. I found coloring in the book to be very relaxing. It's also a creative outlet as I plan which colors to use where.

There is such a variety of animals in the book to color! Here are just a few to choose from: Raccoon, Walrus, Birds, Manatee, Reindeer, Penguin, Butterfly and other Insects (even those are cute!), and so many more. Some of the other nature scenes include forests, trees, flowers, and ponds.

Wonders of Creation is such a fantastic coloring book! From first glance, it is sure to catch your eye with the cheerful, foil-accented cover. Looking inside, you will find nice, thick pages with wonderful line art illustrations to color in. There is one opening with some introductory text, but otherwise the book is filled with pictures only.

The art is fantastic, and I particularly love the animals that are done in an almost Dutch folk art style.

I love the wide variety of animals available to color. You will find typical creatures such as birds, butterflies, frogs, and fish in the pages of Wonders of Creation, but you will also find not-so-typical animals such as rhinos, a sloth, a platypus, and an armadillo.

With the wide variety of animals and variation in art style and complexity, I think that Wonders of Creation is a fantastic choice for a coloring book for an adult (or child) - male or female.

It is truly a beautiful coloring book and I can't wait to dive in and color!

Have you heard the news! It has been found that parents have stressful lives. Between our families, jobs, friends and whatever takes up our time either for work or pleasure our plates are full! It has also been found that coloring reduces stress and anxiety! Do you like to color? I LOVE to color. Every time I think or hear do you want to color, I hear the song “it’s a color, it’s a color and you know I love to color by Joe Wise. It is a silly song about coloring certain colors when you are feeling a certain way. Anyhow, I have lost count on how many crayons, colored pencils, markers (okay I despise markers for coloring so I don’t use them often) or what ever medium you want to use to create art, I have purchased as a parent. I have also lost count of how many hours I have spent at the table, counter, laying on the floor or even sitting outside just coloring with the kiddos. Now my daughter is the only one who wants to color outside of the required for school or 4-H.
This Wonders of Creation book is a great book to take outside on that warm sunny day to decompress and color! Highlighting the animals, plants and wonders of creation reminds us of the amazing world God created for us.

This book is beautiful the cover starts off beautifully with foiled color which you can not see in the image here. But all the darker pink is foil. It's got a nice thick heavy cover. The interior pages are thick so you shouldn't have too many issues with bleeding through if you use markers or paints. I've only started on one page so far and I used color pencil. The pencil glides smoothly across the page and that makes it feel nice to the touch.

I am not completely finished. But I wanted to start and see how smooth the pencil went on. With the smooth texture you can easily use smudge techniques and so much more on these pages.

There are so many different animals and foliage. There are some double page spreads throughout but the majority of the images are single page images. The pages are printed on front and back. Again because of the thickness of the pages and previous experience on similar thickness these pages should not bleed through if you have gel pens, markers or water color paints. If your paints are too wet or heavier then you might want to test a small section first to make sure.

I received a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Can I just be really honest for a second! I really want to love this, I really DO! I love to doodle and I love to color but I have come to the conclusion that this book has pictures with such small areas to color that it is testing my patience a bit too far! There is so much detail to focus on and my husband will be the first to tell you that he is way better at attention to detail than me!

I think these coloring books are great for people who want to color and can relax and do it without frustration and a perfectionist attitude. Unfortunately for me I am not relaxed and lack the patience for majority of these pages!

I had to laugh because I showed this book to a friend and she quickly admitted the same thing... she hates the tiny spaces just like me. Maybe it's the fact that you have to have the best sharpened colored pencils or very fine tipped markers.

So if you have completed some of these detailed coloring pages please share them with me because I would love to see the beauty you created! SO PLEASE COMMENT A PICTURE!

Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine! (Posted on 4/28/2016)

Wonders of Creation is a beautiful book that offers hours of coloring fun. Cindy Wilde and Pimlada Phuapradit created lovely renditions of God's glorious creation. I love the charming and whimsical details of the drawings. Coloring pencils, markers, and crayons can be used on the high quality paper. No doubt coloring these delightful pages will give hours of relaxation. I also like that the artists included some less commonly seen animals. The only drawback are the double-sided pages if you want to frame the pictures. This would be a great book for a family to share or a gift for someone who loves nature. I received this book in exchange for a fair review. (Posted on 4/26/2016)

"Wonders of Creation" from Zondervan is an awesome book. It is a large size (10 x 10 inches) with heavy duty paper. The pages are double sided with pictures to color on both sides, so you'll want to test to make sure what you color with doesn't bleed through. Most of the two page spreads coordinate with each other, either with them having similar themed animals (both from the desert) or one complete picture spreading across both pages.
There are a variety of types of animals from common (ie. squirrel) to less common (ie. sloth). Some of the pages feature fanciful representatives of the animals and others (most) are realistic. The intricacy of the designs also varies throughout the book with some of the pages having more details and others are more simplistic. This book will give hours (months?) of coloring.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and no other compensation was received.

Adult coloring books are all the rage right now. And they are a delightful way to spend an afternoon. But really as long as you are around the ages of 8 and up you can join in on this favorite long lasting pastime. These pictures are like works of art so you really do want to do your absolute best while you lend your imagination to each picture.

The Wonders of Creation: Illustrations to Inspire collection is absolutely breathe taking and gorgeous especially when color is added. The pages of this book is filled to the brim with wonders from God's creation. whether its animals or landscape scenes. Very beautiful especially if markers or color pencils are used.

“Wonders of Creation – Illustration to Color and Inspire” was sent to me by Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
The illustrations in “Wonders of Creation” are done by Cindy Wilde and Pimlada Phuapradit. The editor of this coloring book was Jacque.
As you already know, I am a great proponent of coloring for calm. These pictures are so beautiful! And, just the act of picking out the perfect color and putting pencil to paper has a wonderful calming effect. I color each night to help me get to sleep.
I’d definitely recommend this book!

You can call this what you want but I call it an adult coloring book! True Wonders of Creation is designed for all ages but I've noticed a lot of moms have started coloring since it's been shown to relax and reduce stress!

Whenever my kids want me to color with them I do so willingly! I've always enjoyed it so I was thrilled to see more intricate books and even some that are actually designed for adults! Some of these designs are so intricate they take hours to complete!

I like that the theme of this particular book is creation. What better thing to color and celebrate with a wealth of colors? From creatures to plants and all things great and small, there is plenty of creation to choose from with 96 thick pages. Even the titles pages have things to color on them.

While this is for all ages I think the intricacy of the designs would be too complicate for really young children. My six year old took a shot at it but it was really hard for her to color in the small lines. Colored pencils or thin markers are definitely the way to go with these.
