(If you want to see my review of the original book, The Plans I Have For You, you can find it here.)
The Plans I Have For You Devotional is a hardcover book with full-color, coated pages. It is divided into 6 "sectors" with 15 devotions in each sector (for a total of 90 devotions).
In the devotional, there are some illustrations and wording from the original book, but there is plenty of variety to warrant owning both.
There is some overlap between the devotional and the journal - making them great as companion pieces. There is enough variety between that devotional and the journal that owning both would be good.
One of the ways this devotional is different from others I have seen is that there is a large variation in the length of the individual devotions. Some devotions are extremely short (as short as just 4 lines of text) and some are longer (up to 6 paragraphs). Many of the devotions are 1 to 3 paragraphs long.
The Plans I Have For You Devotional is unique and there is variety in the styles of the devotions, making it interesting for the reader.
The Plans I Have For You Journal is a paperback book with grayscale paper pages. It is divided into 6 "sectors".
This is not just a typical lined journal. The pages are illustrated (grayscale) and have a variety of verses and prompts. (And it's not all writing. There are places for drawing, too.)
Generally there is a two page spread featuring a verse and one or more related journaling prompts. It encourages reflection, writing, and doodling. The prompts are good and thought-provoking. There is a good amount of space to write without feeling overwhelming - good probably for ages 8-12 (maybe even up to 14). There are some illustrations and wording from the original book, but there is plenty of variety to warrant owning both.
Again, there is some overlap between the devotional and the journal - making them great as companion pieces. There is enough variety between that devotional and the journal that owning both would be good.
The Plans I Have For You Journal is unique and there is variety in the styles of the journaling pages, making it fun for the user.

I Know the Plans is a brand new 90 day Devotional for kids by Amy Parker. The scriptures are taken from the NIV. The pages abound with bright full color illustrations by award winning artist Vanessa Brantley-Newton.
This new devotion uses scripture to help your kids understand that God has a plan for each and every one of them. The devotions range from one to tow pages in length. So your child can spend time reading them daily.
The devotional by itself is awesome. but the creative in me absolutely loves the journal. It is full of questions, writing prompts, places to doodle and more. you can use it as a companion wih the devotional or alone by itself.
I do recommend buying them as a set. I love this product more than any other kids devotional because of the creative potential it brings out. Another set of great products from ZonderKidz publishers.
I received a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

It shouldn’t be a shocker to anyone really that we are all different. We may have similar features on the outside, like a few of the same things (or a lot of them) but we were all created differently. I think that tweens need to start thinking about their futures and what it will look like. Isn’t it awesome that God already has that plan? In the Journal, The Plans I Have For You, you are going to be working on just that! Following the book of the same name you will jot down your thoughts that go with each section. Through doodling, journaling and activities, hopefully you will hear (or start to) hear God’s voice directing the path that has been laid out for your life. It is all stated in Jerimiah 29:11 that God has done the hard part for us, making that plan of what we are supposed to do. This journal will help your plan come into better focus.
The book is laid out in an easy to follow format with a page or two for each day. “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” Matthew 17:20, for example, is one of the journaling days. Included in the next prompt in the book asks you to journal about what feels impossible for your today? and Why do you think it feels so hard? and finally, Is there anything you need to pray?
Showing your tween God’s word and giving them direction and reflection is a great way to help guide them on their journey as they discover the amazing plans God has for their life.
This book may be used by itself or in conjunction with the 90 day Devotional.

In each Journal there is tons of room for your child to grow in the Lord through all the different yet encouraging messages that the author uses to teach them about God's unique-to-them plans that He has for their lives. There are 6 different sectors or sections that go along with the book. The book is set up to teach your child how to investigate God's purpose for them. This journal has over 200 pages and is geared for ages 11-14. Perfect for a pre teen!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. (Posted on 12/26/2015)

It asks very specific question that are really thought provoking and will hopefully make kids really stop and think about them in the depth they are intended.
The lines to write in are nice and big and spaced far enough apart which makes it functional. The design is adorable and even though it's not designed for one sex or another, I could really see it appealing more to girls.
The Plans I have for you Devotional and Journal go hand in hand and are great tools for the young! (Posted on 12/22/2015)
