One thing that my kids seem to want to know more about is angels and this was a cute story that shares some stories about angels. After the story is complete there is some scriptures to guide your family in discussing angels with your kids. Some of the stories in the back that you can discuss with your kids include: Angels ascend and descend from Heaven in Jacobs dream, and angel appearing to Gideon, and angel bringing food to Elijah in the wilderness, Daniel in the Lion's den, helping Peter get out of prison, and in revelation.

The angel story in this book is of course the Christmas story. I love that the bears made a snow angel... once snow flies here I know we will be trying our best to create an angel.

Pick up this book now as you start preparations for Christmas season!

Thanks Zondervan for sending me this book to review in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for this review and all opinions expressed are 100% mine.

Mike Berenstain has created a great book that helps teach children about angels and their purpose in The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel. Brother and Sister Bear are so excited about the snow that's fallen overnight. They take little sister, Honey, out to build their first snowman of the season. I enjoyed the variety of snow people they thought about making. Honey inspires them on their final. This leads to Mama and Papa telling the bear cubs about the angels in the Christmas story. I like how Mike intertwined a fun story with truth about angels in the Bible. The book also has further references in the back for other angel scriptures. As usual the Berenstain Bears do not disappoint. I received this book for free from Zonderkidz. (Posted on 10/11/2016)

I have to admit; I think I may want to collect every Berenstain Bear book. They have good Christian messages and are so entertaining for my children! The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel is yet another favorite Berenstain Bears book for us.

We hardly get snow where we live, so for my boys to read and think of building a snowman that looks like an angel was very funny. It was a great introduction to then read about God’s angels that spoke to Mary, the Shepard’s, the Wise Men and Joseph in the story of the birth of Jesus. It was a very cute way to include the Christmas story!

I enjoy reading Christmas books to my children, even all year long. I used to put our Christmas books away with the Christmas decorations, but now I leave them out and look forward to reading The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel all year long too! (Posted on 10/7/2016)

I don't know many children that aren't excited when the weatherman forecasts snow. All children anxiously await that beautiful blanket of white. I have to admit if I'm prepared I can enjoy it right along with them. The Berenstain Bears are no exception, they love that cold, wet, white blanket, as well. The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel is all about the first real snow of the season.

We find Brother and Sister and Honey outside with the fresh, fallen snow. They are all in a conundrum because they want to build a snow bear but they want it to be new and different. So as Honey makes her first snow angel, Brother and Sister decide that's exactly what they will make. After they come in for some warming up, their parents tell them all about angels and what their special jobs are.

I love this story because it explains what an angel is and how special they are to us and to God.

“The Berenstain Bears and the Christmas Angel” was sent to me by Zonderkidz - a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest and not coerced review.
“Christmas Angel” was written and illustrated by Mike Berenstain, the son of the original writers, Stan and Jan Berenstain. I still think it is SO awesome that my grandchildren can now hear and read the series that I read as a little girl, and that I read to my little boys! Thank you, Mike, for carrying on the tradition.
In this story, the bear cubs built a snow angel (a traditional snowman, just wouldn’t do) They added a flowy robe, wings, a halo, and a harp. It was really good! Well, as they were drinking the hot cocoa Momma had made them, and admiring their work, Papa told them about Gabriel – the Christmas angel that announced the Savior’s birth. On the last page, there are also references of other angels found in the Bible...like, Michael.
I definitely recommend this book…and all of the Berenstain books…to young readers, and those who read to them.
