“The NKJV Teen Study Bible” was sent to me by Zondervan Publishing, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
I like Bibles that have study helps that encourage children and teenagers to read and study God’s Word. This one is filled with them! It has colorful maps to help them know where the Scripture is talking about. There are also question and answers throughout. An example is, “Where will history’s last battle be fought?” Of course, the answer is “Armageddon”. It even shows that the answer can be found at Revelation 16:16. I like that it doesn’t just give the answer, but also shows where to find it. There is a check off WHAT DO I READ TODAY? Or what I call read through the Bible. There’s a Bible Truth Index. And, I really like that it has a Teen Life Index. It even includes Scripture on “Computer Games”!! :-D The index leads to a letter that is like a devotion that gives the Scripture…Matthew 12:36-37 talks about making choices. There are also plenty of other study helps scattered throughout. I think these encourage further study.

I really like and would recommend this study Bible.

The Teen Study Bible NKJV, Hardback edition, Zondervan. 2015, (1626 pages).
Book Review
I do not own a single Teen Study Bible. Usually I find them simplistic and the market is filled with NIV translations. This one caught my eye as it is a New King James Version of the bestselling teen study Bible published by Zondervan. The NKJV is a trusted, word-for-word translation and as a parent, I would willingly give one to my teenagers.
The one I am reviewing is a hard cover edition printed in color. It is a very handy size of 5.5”x8.5” x 1.75” to fit most teens hands. The cover is “splashy” in design and the back of the Bible says; “This Bible keeps up with you, to help you keep up with God.”
As the title says, this is a study Bible dedicated to teenagers, incorporating helps that speak their language and age group. It is packed with many great features as outlined on the back:
Features Include:
• We Believe—Unpacks the Apostles’ Creed to reveal the biblical foundation of faith
• Panorama—Keeps the big picture of each book of the Bible in view
• 4 full-color pages—Presentation page and information about the Apostles’ Creed
• Key indexes—Helps with in-depth Bible Study
• To the Point—Reveals what the Bible says about pressing issues
• Dear Jordan—Offers biblical advice for teens
• Instant Access—Tells what God says to you personally
• Q&A—Tests your knowledge of Bible trivia
• Bible Promises—Highlights Bible verses worth remembering
• Book Introductions—Provides and overview for each book of the Bible
• 8 page, full-color map section
• Complete text of the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible
In my opinion, there is a heavy dose of the Apostles Creed. The opening pages lists the Apostles Creed and its history. Throughout the Bible there are references to the Apostles Creed titled “We Believe.” There is a very good explanation of how to use the Bible that any teen could comprehend. These are found throughout the Bible, using a “blue” print to identify the reader of the help.
My biggest surprise of this Bible was the inclusion of the “Preface to the NKJV.” For those teens wanting to know how this version came into being, this is a gold mine. It is written with great detail but is very easy to read and understand. Well done!
In my opinion, the “Teen Study Bible, NKJV”, is a very valuable resource for the teens of today to help keep them in the Word of God. I believe the editors and publisher are successful in their design.
The format of the Bible is “paragraph” style as many of the newer Bibles today are going. It keeps the flow of the verses in a readable format. The type is small, but readable.
This study Bible will answer many of the questions concerning, backgrounds, personal biographies, comparisons and references.
My further review:
First of all, the translation used is the New King James Version which is a trusted, word-for-word translation. It has the beauty of the KJV without the “thee’s” and “thou’s” that are antiquated from the 1600’s. Of course that is an over simplification of the differences, but you get the idea.
There are very simple, yet well written introductions to each book of the Bible. It is the 30,000 foot view of the book, which is perfect for the “get it, got it, good” crowd.
The Bible has 8 pages of full color maps.
My overall opinion is that I would gladly endorse the “Teen Study Bible, NKJV” by zondervan to any teen. I would also recommend this Bible to new believers of any age without hesitation, if they are looking for a NKJV.
On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being highly recommended, I would give this Bible a rating: of 4+

My Review:
Wow! Do you want to motivate your teen to use and study the Bible? This Bible just might be the answer. I have taken my time reviewing this Bible from cover to cover and I am impressed, which is not easy for me to admit because I am a died in the wool KJV only user, however having said that as I perused this Bible I couldn’t help but be impressed with all the helps available for making studying the Bible less confusing for the teens. I loved how the Apostles’ Creed had scripture for each line to show it has a biblical basis and each chapter is broken into subcategories as the subject changes. The Instant Access addresses everyday things such as finding a good Christian mate to bullying and scripturally how to deal with the situations. It has a nice sized clear print, making it easy to read. The Bible I have been reviewing is hard-cover and a nice size to pack in a book bag or tote. If you or your church uses the New King James Version, this Bible in my opinion would definitely be a must-have for your teens. Thank you Zondervan for the opportunity to review this Bible.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this Book by the publisher, ZonderKidz, Z Blog Squad for an honest review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.

I don't have any teens in my house yet - thank goodness! However, I think that the Teen Study Bible seems well designed for teens and will be a great tool when my kids reach that age.

The King James Version isn't my favorite but the New Kings James Version is a definite improvement and more understandable. I think that when kids reach their teen years they are ready to dive deeper into the word and are ready to see different versions and interpretations of the Bible. There is a preface to the NKJV that helps explain it in detail.

I like the "how to use this Bible section" that breaks down the specific tools of this particular Bible and how to best utilize them. It is a study Bible with the most available tools I've seen in one Bible.

Some features include "We believe" which lays out the Christian faith all throughout the Bible when a verse of chapter references this. Another is the "Dear Jordan" which is basically an advice column which I thought was a really interesting angle and one I've never seen. "What do I read today" is a great reading plan to help guide teens through reading the Bible.

I think my favorite feature is the "Bible Promises" that highlights in a blue bubble promises of the Bible. What a great thing to focus on when reading through!

Other superficial features I like are the blue print at each section and the Questions, To the Point, Panorama and Instant Access through ought to keep them thinking and going deeper.

The Teen Study Bible is the most detailed study Bible I've seen and while designed for teens, really makes a great study Bible for adults as well! (Posted on 5/11/2016)

-Panorama- keeps the big picture of each book of the Bible in view
-4 Full color pages- presentation and information about the Apostles' creed.

This is a sturdy hard cover bible. I love the explanations through out like the instant access and the to the point sections. For example in Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 the Instant Access is explaining that Solomon had so much money and power that he got everything that he wanted either by money or power. The explanation is that they haven’t grown up spiritually and it isn’t the things you have but the kind of person you are that matters.
I think this would make a great Bible for anyone, however I picture it more for our young men as the cover isn’t very girly (it is attractive though). The Bible can be a bit overwhelming I think to figure out, especially for those who are just getting into it for the first time. I think that it has a lot of information in it for helping the reader to understand what God really wants out of us and to understand the Bible.

I review a lot of Bibles and this one has by far been the best, based on the fact that it is chocked full of all kinds of things that teens or even older adults would find very interesting. I was eager to jump right in and show you all the great features that this Bible has and how beneficial it would be to all teens every where to get a copy of the NKJV, Teen Study Bible, Hardcover by:Zondervan. An excellent resource, by far.

Dear Jordan is a fun feature it exposes questions to our children that maybe they didn't think about or were afraid to ask and then Jordan gives them a Biblically based answer. Being a teenager is hard enough already without God based guidance our teens will feel a heavy weight that I know as a parent I do NOT want for my children.

Instant Access is also a really great feature that I like. It is placed strategically through out the Bible and it sort of gives you an interesting point or a look back into the story and it breaks it down for your teen or describes it further. All the new features are great ones but these two I like the best! With all these great features and with over 1500 pages available to them your teen would love this Bible. It makes a great graduation gift!

I like the NKJV. It's the translation that I was raised on so I am comfortable with it. My eldest daughter prefers the NKJV because that is what she is familiar wih but my oldest prefers the NIV because it's easier to understand. But it really all comes down to preference.

This Bible has a whole lot of features to offer, from advice columns, like "Dear Jordan" to Study helps located in the back of the Bible. It's packed full of good study information and references for your kids to remember as well as a check off reading plan to help your teen read through the entire Bible.

I like the layout and the feel of the Bible. The only thing that I would change is make it red letter. I personally like seeing the words of Jesus in red. I really wish they would do this in all translations.

My overall opinion of this Bible is it is a great study tool for teens that has articles that address the issues your teen is going through with answers straight from the Scriptures. (Posted on 5/3/2016)

With graduation around the corner for many different grades, the New King James Version Teen Study Bible would make the perfect gift. This is a Bible that will help your child keep in step with all they have done, is doing and will do in the world and in life.

NKJV Teen Study Bible is designed to help your child discover the eternal truths of God's Word and apply them to the issues they face in their daily lives. In this day and time, teens need to be reminded that although our lives are different, the Word of God is never changing. He doesn't change his Word as the world changes.
Just a few months ago, I had a deep discussion with my twenty-year old. Her words literally crushed my heart. She told me that she feels that the Bible is outdated. Seriously, those were her words. I told her the Bible isn't outdated, those Words were never a "trend". This is coming from a child that some days I feel knows about the Bible than I do personally. I really feel that this was Satan hard at work on her, and after talking about it all she said, I pray daily that she is looking at the Bible differently.
Bibles like the NKJV Teen Study Bible are laid out to help answer some questions that teens and young adults may have. While reading through this Bible myself, and soon will be gifting it to my daughter I was truly amazed. This Bible is busting at the seams with information and guidance to teens (both boys and girls).
Features you'll find in the NKJV Teen Study Bible:
Upon opening this Bible, you'll immediately see The Apostles Creed. It also has the history. These pages are in color.

We Believe:
This is pretty awesome. It's a verse-by-verse breakdown of the Apostles' Creed. It unpacks the Apostles Ceed to reveal the biblical foundation of faith and it is also in color, however the pages that are also part of this throughout this Bible will not be in color, but are absolutely wonderful.

Book Introduction:
At the beginning of each book of the Bible, you have a introduction that provides an overview for each book of the bible.

Panorama:
This section can be found throughout this Bible. It keeps the big picture of each book of the Bible in view. For example, the Panorama that is found in Job talks about tough times. How Job was a good person that had fallen on hard times. Ht was always faithful to God, but he had questions as to why God was letting his suffer.

Dear Jordan:
Offers biblical advice for teens on issues that they are facing in today's world. It talks about simple things like getting "Will I ever be the right age to do stuff I want to do" to more serious issues such as "The U.S. Supreme Court says abortion is legal. Why shouldn't Christians get them if they need to? Does the Bible even talk about abortion?

Instant Access:
Tells what God says to you personally such as, "Have you ever experienced the consequences of a poor choice? Like being grounded because you skipped a few math assignments...." These instant access sections at the end refer your teen to the scripture that goes a long with it.

To the Point:
Reveals what the Bible says about pressing issues that teens go through today.

Bible Promises:
Highlights Bible verses worth remembering. These can be found throughout this study Bible.

Key Indexes:
Help with in-depth Bible study. You're teen can turn to the back of the study Bible to find this section. With this, they can look up whatever issue they may be facing at the time and be referred to the instant access sections found throughout the Bible.

Q&A:
Tests your knowledge of Bible trivia

As wonderful as it would be that our teens would always approach us about things, we know this won't always happen. My girls always felt very confident in talking to us about issues, but I also know there were things they didn't want to discuss with us. There are things that they researched in the Bible and even took before their Youth Pastor. The NKJV Teen Bible allows them to read scripture on so many issues that they may be facing..questions that maybe they don't feel comfortable about coming to a parent with at a particular time in their lives.

On top of all the wonderful sections I've listed above, this Bible also comes with a weights & measurement section, a section where your teen can mark off the Bible chapters they read for that day, and even color maps. This Bible is truly amazing for any teen or young adult that is just trying to make it in today's world.
