I love that there is a section in the front of the Bible that shows you all the features and how to use them.
Again we have section and book introductions with some really pretty flower graphics and fonts on the pages.
A treasure this section with a scripture to memorize.
Dream Girl which talks about one of the many women in the Bible.
What Happens next where you can get interactive in your Faith and the Oh I get it! section that helps you understand it a little more.
Do you have a little….? section goes over the people in the scripture and helps you to see similarities in yourself with these people.
Bring it On is a multiple choice question and on the next page it gives you the scripture that goes with the answer you choose to help you with the issue you are facing.
In the back of the Bible you have the salvation plan all mapped out for you as well as a Through the Bible in a year reading plan.
There are also the promises from the Bible list as well as perspectives from the Bible and a place for you to take notes.
All in all this is a great Bible for girls ages 8-12. It has lots of fun features and beautiful pages. (Posted on 11/6/2015)

This Bible starts each book with an easy to understand introduction that tells a little about the book and when and where it was written. It also includes some of the main players. It also has devotions throughout.
The "Faithgirlz Bible" is NIV. It seems to be written and put together for a younger teen, as well as an older teen. Honestly, I would even use it as a personal study Bible. I love the way it includes recaps about half way through each book, and then asks the reader to finish the book and write a recap of their own. It also includes little quizzes about yourself throughout, and then shows where to go to learn more. It answers questions that many people have, such as how people can be so old in biblical times. It has life applications. And, I love the way it pulls certain verses out and puts them in a cloud, called TREASURE THIS!! In the back it shows HOW TO BEGIN A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS and provides a space to record when you began that relationship. It includes PROMISES (what to do when...) & PERSPECTIVES (what the Bible says about...). Of course, it includes a READ THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR schedule. And, there's even a few pages for notes.
This Bible is hardback, so it is more durable, and pretty, so a young girl would like to carry it around.
I like this Bible a lot and would recommend it for your teen girl. (Posted on 9/26/2015)

The Faithgirlz Bible, NIV has all purple text (including the words of Christ) with various dark pink (almost red) accents (headings, chapter numbers, etc.), and is laid out in two columns. This is the NIV version of the Bible (© 1973, 1978, 1984, & 2011). The text is standard size - not large, but not extra small. It does contain some basic footnotes. There is not a presentation page like you might find in many Bibles, but there is a page at the front with plenty of room to add a note or a name if you choose to do so.
There is a brief, single-page introduction for each book of the Bible. Each introduction covers a few basic things about the book (some thoughts about the book, "Who wrote it", "When it was written", "Where it takes place", "Cool characters you'll meet", "Bad guys to watch for", "The point", and "How it connects"). There are also introductions/overviews of the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The Faithgirlz Bible, NIV has several specific features spread throughout the text.
- "Dream Girl" (helping you to imagine yourself in the events of the Scriptures)
- "Bring It On!" (a quiz-style feature leading you to verses to encourage you)
- "Oh, I Get It!" (a bit of commentary on some things that you might have questions about)
- "Treasure This!" (highlighted verses that would be great for memorization)
- "Is There a Little _____ in You?" (a look at some character traits that you might have in common with people in the Bible)
- "In Your Own Words" (a recap of events and a space to write a summary of events in your own words)
In addition to all the features throughout the text, there are some other features at the back of the Faithgirlz Bible, NIV.
- "How to Begin a Relationship with Jesus"
- "Through the Bible in a Year" (a checklist and reading plan for reading the entire Bible in 365 days)
- "Promises from the Bible" (some verses to look at that might be helpful in your current situation)
- "Perspectives from the Bible" (some verses to look at regarding specific topics)
- "My Notes" (journaling pages)
I'd say the Faithgirlz Bible, NIV is probably best for young girls - starting as early as age 6 (if they are reading) and up to the early teens. The only reason I might not suggest it for older teens is the styling may look a bit young, but the content is still great.
All in all, I think the Faithgirlz Bible, NIV is a fantastic choice for a Bible for a young girl in your life.

It comes with a hard back cover that has a magnetic flap closure. I love the durability of a hard back Bible for younger kids. It is a bit heavier but the sturdiness and lay flat design make up for that. But what's fun about a durable Bible that doesn't have a cute design? I'm happy to say that this particular Bible has an adorable owl motif that is shiny and sparkly. What girl doesn't like a little shiny and sparkly in her life?
While the cover is cute it is what lies within that matters. My girl and I both liked the layout. Each book begins with a title page that introduces the book and gives an overview of what is contained. There is also a section written by Nancy Rue that helps relate that particular book of the Bible to your girl's life. Nancy has such a way of speaking truth to young girls and this particular element is a very nice touch.
We also liked many of the other features that made this Bible very interactive. The Bring It On! sections are scattered throughout and they ask a particular question with a multiple choice set of answers. On the opposite page is the second part of the Bring It On! portion. It says If you answered . . . (A., B., or C) then go to a particular Scripture reference. How's that for getting your girl to explore the Scriptures?
I am a list-maker box-checker by nature so the Bible reading plan in the back really appealed to me. It breaks the readings down into very manageable portions and then has a box to check when it is completed. It is designed to be done in a year but with the box check system your girl can do it at whatever pace they are comfortable with.
If you are looking for a way to stimulate interest in Scripture reading and study in your girl I would say that you can't go wrong with this particular Bible. It is appealing to the eye and will speak truth to her soul. What more could you ask for?

Growing closer to God becomes an even more exciting adventure when you get to open up something so beautifully made each day. Nancy Rue tackled this one and as we all know she is a great role model for our girls. I have worked with her in the past on some books she had written concerning bullying--she is a great lady!
The Faithgirlz! Bible is NIV version is full of all kinds of great extras for the young girl to inspire and to encourage her to be an upstanding daughter of the King. This would make a perfect gift for any young girl.

The owl on the cover with shiny flowers and polk dots on top of the striped print in popular teel and a magnetic closure come together in one fabulous Bible! I don't know any little girl that wouldn't be attracted to this Bible based on the cover alone. If that's what it takes to get them to open it; mission accomplished!
I really like that this Bible has a hard cover as I think all books meant to be read daily should! The magic closure is a new element I haven't seen before that I hope to see much more of. It protects the edges of those precious pages and keeps any loose papers tucked safely inside. It's a good quality, heavy magnet that will snap itself shut as soon as you get it near the cover.
The NIV is my personal favorite version to read so I definitely want the same for my kids. This one is jam packed full of girly things that I knew my little girl would adore. From the purple and red print to the hot pink notes that pop, it's all girl, all the time!
The pages are thicker than the super thin traditional pages known to Bibles but they still have that crisp element to them, without the tearing risk! There are a lot of fun Features of this Bible that are unique for girls including Dream Girl, Bring it On and Oh I Get it to name a few!
I love the thoughtfulness that Nancy Rue put into this faithgirlz Bible! There are so many details that girls will love, myself included and I'm well beyond my tween years! From aesthetics on the outside to reflection and introspection on the inside, this one has it all.
I received a copy of this Bible in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. (Posted on 8/19/2015)

These two Bibles are no different, in fact I have already given them away. I am sure that the lives of two girls will be changed. There aren't many coincidences with God, they just are God-opportunities, so I wasn't a bit surprised that the same week I requested these Bibles a friend came to me asking about a Bible for her daughter. I had just the thing on the way!!

I don’t think I have gotten this excited over a Bible in awhile. The cover is a hardback with a magnetic flap that serves as a closure. Just look at the cover! It’s cute and sparkly, and feminine without being over the top, and let’s face it, these days, preteen girls need some bling to get them away from the phones, TV and internet. When I saw it, I couldn’t wait to show it to my soon to be tween. Even she got excited about it.
The Bible itself has some great features that are right in the language perfect for pre-teens to understand. My daughter loved taking one of the quizzes that are found throughout the Bible, where each answer corresponds to a Scripture passage to address that problem. She also loved reading the “Is There a Little (insert Bible character here) In You”? It was refreshing for her to think that these were characters in the Bible she could relate to, instead of boring, dry characters without a third dimension to them. Overall, this is a great Bible to get for your pre-teen girl.
